Kaplan Award

Kaplan Award

For the 2021-2022 round of bargaining, all outstanding matters were referred to binding interest arbitration. Arbitrator Kaplan has issued his decision on the content of a new Collective Agreement and you can find that decision here.

Now that the Kaplan Award is available, the full text of the new Collective Agreement will be published soon.

In the meantime, refer to the Academic Terms and Conditions of Employment that had been in effect prior to the award and the most recently expired collective agreement 2017-2021 Academic Collective Agreement.

Your Contract, Their Contract, Our Contract

If you are a full-time or partial-load faculty member at Fanshawe College, you are covered by the province-wide Academic Employees Collective Agreement (CA). It is a legally binding contract: it specifies the rights and obligations you have as a member of the bargaining unit, and the rights and obligations of your employer. The contract is enforced through legally binding dispute resolution processes including Grievance Arbitration (Article 32) and Workload Resolution Arbitration (WRA).

Notes

Partial-load faculty should pay particular attention to Article 26. We have also prepared an FAQ.

Full-time faculty can refer to our FAQ. The pay grid can be found in Article 14. Full-time professors can find the workload provisions in Article 11.
